Frequently Asked Questions
-
The first step is to submit an enquiry through Nanara. We’ll then arrange a private consultation to understand your family’s lifestyle, routine, values, and childcare requirements. From there, we create a tailored search and introduce carefully selected candidates suited to your household.
-
We follow a thorough multi-stage vetting process designed to ensure quality, professionalism, and safeguarding standards.
This includes:
Detailed CV and career review
Initial screening and in-depth interviews
Enhanced DBS checks
Paediatric First Aid verification
Right to work checks
Comprehensive reference checks
Experience and suitability assessment
Personality and compatibility evaluation
Only candidates who meet our standards are introduced to families.

Yes. We place:

Temporary and permanent placements
We tailor every search around your household’s specific needs and lifestyle.
-
Timelines vary depending on the complexity of the brief, candidate availability, and interview scheduling. Some placements move quickly, while more specialised searches may take longer. Because our candidates are vetted during onboarding, the process is designed to move as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
-
While we take great care in creating the right match, we understand circumstances can change. We offer a replacement policy, which will be outlined clearly in your agreement. All placements also include a probation period to ensure both the family and nanny feel comfortable and supported.
-
A daily nanny works scheduled hours in your home but lives separately.
A live-in nanny resides with the family and often offers greater flexibility with routines and scheduling.
A rota nanny works on a shift pattern (for example, one week on/off or two weeks on/off), usually alongside another nanny. This arrangement is common for busy, high-profile, or frequently travelling families.
-
Yes. Every nanny must hold an Enhanced DBS certificate (or international equivalent where applicable), which is verified as part of our vetting process.
-
Yes. Valid Paediatric First Aid certification is a mandatory requirement for all candidates represented by Nanara.
